A number of studies looking at the attitude of millennials in the workforce have found that gaining social recognition is one of the most important factors in keeping a younger staff member motivated. One such study, by business network LinkedIn, found that a huge 37% of younger workers have actually quit roles because they felt their efforts went unnoticed.
Because of this, first class ‘noticers’ are required within management to help decipher who did what on which project, who performed well and which staff members could do with a moral boosting slice of recognition.
